The idea was to create a beautiful booklet with all original photos taken by me. I used excerpts from Robert D. Hales General Conference talk "The Eternal Family." I chose pearls as a symbol for things that are the most precious to us. I used Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to create this booklet.
Most of my images are black and white but I chose a few with color and lowered their saturation so that they wouldn't stick out as much. It gives some visual interest while still being in unity with the feel of the design.
For emphasis through out the text I used a maroon color that matches this image below. I wanted a minimal color scheme to give more attention to the photos themselves. I used Century Goth for the font and used a left justify for all of the text.
I used squares and circles heavily in the design. Squares to me most resemble circles, geometrically speaking, so I wanted to use those two shapes to create unity and contrast through out the booklet.
This booklet was a fun project that helped me to really understand InDesign better. There's a lot of little details that make the design work and it's a great addition to any coffee table.
